International Carwash Association has been fielding phone calls from the car wash community related to a recent commercial aired by Farmers Insurance that depicts a father and son entering their car into an automatic wash behind an extremely dirty truck. The car is subsequently left pummeled by dirt and stones, causing severe damage. We're concerned with this depiction of the car wash industry and have reached out to Farmers Insurance with a request to remove the ad from circulation.

Patrons pulling up to Zydeco Ride & Shine in Lafayette, La., are greeted with zydeco music blasting from the speakers and a menu of car-wash options named for some of zydeco’s best: you can choose the Clifton, the Sydney, the Dopsie or the Boozoo. The car wash opened in April, and owner Burley Pellerin, 47, is a fixture at his business. He does the "dirty work" – picking up trash, hosing things off, cleaning the inside of the wash and making sure it looks "especially nice," he says.
