Grace for Vets today announced that it currently has over 3,000 carwashes from four countries participating in the one day event scheduled for November 11. Participating car washes will offer military veterans and active-duty personnel free car washes in thanks for their service.

The Register-MailBusiness partners Walter Smith and Jerry Harper opened JH Car Wash at the corner of Whitesboro Street and Grand Avenue. Forty years later, that car wash still exists and goes by the name of WaterWorks Car Wash, and the business has grown to 12 locations in Illinois and South Carolina.
