Machine learning technology is starting to gain an initial foothold in the car wash industry. Machine learning, a form of artificial intelligence, provides the capability to extract useful patterns from data and make decisions (or suggest decisions) based on those patterns with minimal human involvement. Typically, machine learning is used to focus on optimizing a particular process or dimension of the business, such as understanding and predicting customer behavior. 

A new Fuels Institute report, “Impact of Transportation-Related Environmental Initiatives,” provides insight on how to reduce emissions from transportation and the associated costs to society, government, industry and consumers of 14 distinct transportation movements, including those focused on emissions, fuel economy and carbon pricing; alternative fuels; congestion pricing, tolls and telecommuting; and mobility.

To commemorate Veterans Day, November 11, Mike’s Carwash held a day-long fundraising event to support Project Hero. Mike’s gave a FREE Basic Wash to all veterans and active military personnel, with an option to upgrade to an Ultimate Wash for $5. 100% of the proceeds from the $5 upgrade were donated to Project Hero, which supports Veterans and First Responders affected by PTSD, TBI and injury. 

Northshore Car Wash in Townsville, Australia, was spotlighted by an architecture magazine because of its unique, eye-catching design. Its Googie architecture is reminiscent of 1950s Southern California. It's design is practical and includes infrastructure for future development, and also includes a dog wash. It is being considered a working prototype.

The new JQS Deluxe Car Wash in Vinton, Iowa, was slated to open for business last week. The wash features four bays -- two self-service, a brush automatic, and a brushless automatic -- with each offering the option to pay with cash, credit or by app. The cement in and around the car wash is heated, including the exits, allowing the facility to operate no matter how bad the weather is outside.

Giant Eagle, Inc., ranked among the top 30 privately owned companies in the country by Forbes and recognized as the largest supermarket and convenience store chain in the Pittsburgh area, announced today an expansion of their WetGo car wash offering. 

A conveyor car wash, Tidal Wave Auto Spa, was unanimously approved by the Cedar Falls (Iowa) Planning and Zoning Commission. This will be the company's first wash in Iowa, though it has several locations in the South.
