The event, organized by International Carwash Association (ICA) and ProMedia Europoint, featured tours of brand new local car washes, product displays, seminars, and receptions. It drew 2,300 total participants—a record for the event—and 60 total exhibiting companies in a sold-out exhibit hall.

For the 2nd annual Women’s Leadership Experience, International Carwash Association is partnering with Second City Works for an all-new communications workshop. In spite of the name it’s not about performing—there’s no audience, just a collection of peers who are invested in helping each other grow. Rather, it’s about helping people get better at the things they do every day.

Battery research revealed earlier this month and affiliated with Tesla could suggest that the company is well on its way to bringing a million-mile battery to market. The result could last three times as long as Tesla’s current cells—6,000 cycles, across a wide temperature range—and be the electric-car brand’s “secret sauce” as it moves to prove its vehicles as high-mileage self-driving workhorses.

Hybrid and electric cars are becoming more popular because they save energy and offer a quiet drive. But a federal regulation goes into effect next fall will require them to play sounds at certain speeds for pedestrian safety, reports The New York Times.

For the 2019-20 academic year, Autobell Car Wash presented 136 of its team members in the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia and Maryland with scholarships toward the college or university of their choice, with the year’s gifts totaling $169,250. Since its inception, the Autobell Car Wash Scholarship Program has awarded qualifying applicants more than $1.6 million in scholarship funding.

The York County Board of Supervisors in Virginia recently approved a special use permit for Tidal Wave Auto Spa. Tidal Wave Auto Spa is a chain of express car wash locations headquartered in Georgia. It will be a 3,450-square-foot structure with a 120-foot-long car wash tunnel on 1.3 acres.

A new car wash planned in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, could reduce water consumption by 75% when compared to traditional car washes, said co-owner Christopher Mullett. "We also plan to be extremely efficient and increase local capacity by over 500%; even on the busiest days, we will be the quickest."
