These features are meant to provide technological advancements both, big and small that, result in more comfortable, and safer rides. But how safe is this rapid increase in technology? PennDOT has launched a pilot program to test digital license plates on 20 PennDOT vehicles. For the next 18 months, the Department will test the durability, visibility, and other features of the plates.

Four major automakers have reached a deal with California to increase gas mileage and greenhouse gas emissions standards, bypassing the Trump administration’s push to freeze requirements at 2021 levels. Ford, BMW, Honda and Volkswagen signed the deal with the California Air Resources Board, the state’s air pollution regulator.

Charging stations for electric vehicles will be available or under construction at all Florida Turnpike service plazas by the end of the year, with similar infrastructure along other major highways in Florida.

A former College Diner will soon be a car wash in Wilmington, Delaware. AAA Carolinas just purchased the property for $2 million and plans to raze the diner and build a 3,000-square-foot car wash with 20 vacuum stations.

The first automated car wash opened in Anchorage 60 years ago on July 30, 1959. While Brian Boyd – part-owner and manager of both the Magic Wand self-serve car washes in the Anchorage and the Rainmaker touchless car washes – wasn’t a part of that initial operation, the Boyd family has been cleaning cars one way or another since the mid-1960s.
