District Directors for the Win!

This month, I want to take a moment to recognize the District Director Team.   They are a group of tireless advocates working on behalf of the 28 chapters of HR Florida and their members.

Becoming a DD is often a five-year commitment to HR Florida and the two or three chapters they support.  District Directors are there to serve in an advisory capacity for chapter leadership providing guidance, a listening ear, and sometimes a little push to spur on growth.  Each of our DDs have been a chapter president and have been involved with their local chapter and HR Florida for many years.

In addition to working with their chapters, the DD team also makes up the Leadership Conference Committee.  This year, Tammie Eldred is our Conference Chair and is working with the other DDs year-round to plan, program and put on our Leadership Conference for 250-300 chapter leaders!

Often times, I consider their efforts a labor of love.  Not only because they are frequently the unsung heroes working behind the scenes to help out in a pinch, but because they truly enjoy what they do.  In fact, other state councils often ask about the new and exciting things our DD team has come up with.  They are considered thought leaders and pioneers in the role of District Director.

Next time you see your District Director at your chapter meeting, in person or virtually, say thanks for all their hard work.  HR Florida wouldn’t be the same without them. And from the bottom of my heart – thank you to each of you for all you do for your chapters, HR Florida and the HR Profession as a whole!  You continue to make Florida the best place to work!
