Login Credentials for Over 500,000 Zoom Accounts on Sale Via the Dark Web

According to a recent article on PC Mag, the login credentials for many Zoom accounts are floating around on the “dark web” for trade / sale to those with nefarious intentions. As per the article, users should ensure that they use strong passwords for their meetings and account profiles. Otherwise, your information might be compromised.

 

“Security firm Cyble says thousands of breached Zoom accounts have been circulating in underground hacker forums since April 1. The company told BleepingComputer it purchased access to 530,000 Zoom login credentials for a mere $0.0020 per account. 

In return, the seller gave Cyble access to account holders' email addresses, passwords, personal meeting URLs, and their host keys” (which can be used to control the meetings!).

 

Other online / streaming services (e.g., Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, Hulu) are regularly targeted with similar account hijacking attacks. So, the article advising taking a similar approach to your account credentials with these services as well.
