University of Winnipeg PACE - Seeking Professional for Resumania Events May 26 & 28

The University of Winnipeg Professional, Applied and Continuing Education invites you to participate in an upcoming Resumania event for full-time Project Management students. Students value the opportunity to network with established professionals from the local business community and tap into their industry perspective.

Resumania is based on the speed-mentoring concept. Resuming helps PACE students gain a wider perspective in the screening criteria employers use to short-list candidates for the discard pile. It provides students with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with recognized industry professionals and get feedback in their resumes. Students will move round-robin across 12 stations, where they will have 6 minutes with each professional. At the end of the evening, the students should obtain feedback from approximately 8-10 different industry professionals.

You will be asked to critique each student's resume. Critiques should reflect the recruitment practices of your organization. As well, we would ask you to provide feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of each resume.

The Resumania event also includes a networking component with a Mix & Mingle session at the end of the event.

A small commitment of time will make a huge difference to the future career opportunities for students. In a tight job market for new professionals, a strong resume can open doors, which might otherwise be closed to new graduates.
