Q: Most people’s careers are basically a series of opportunities or paths you need to choose from. And sometimes, you may be left wondering, what if I took the other path? Looking back, is there a point in your career you’d like to go back to and see where that path would have taken you, just out of curiosity?
A little-known secret I have is that I’m a very skilled seamstress and patternmaker. I wanted to be an international fashion designer when I was young. After over 22 years in the Communications and Marketing business, I still often find myself wondering what if I had pursued that passion point, and then I think – hey, you never know…Carolina Herrera started in her forties!
Q: Imagine you are going into your most important business meeting ever and you can bring 3 people along as part of your team…who would you bring and why?
- Xaulanda Simmonds-Emmanuel, my colleague, sounding board, sister from another mister and right-hand woman
- Zaid Haiman, my baby brother, wonderful business associate and the brains of the family
- Scott Marrero, my better half, and the creative extraordinaire who we can always rely on to follow-through with the craziest requests

- Anger: bullying
- Sadness: humankind losing humanity and kindness
- Joy: cuddling with my kids
- Fear: that my loved ones do not reach their fullest potential

Freeze time at will, so I could prevent disasters from happening.
