PROSPANICA Welcomes New Chair of National Board in New Year – the Organization’s Milestone 30th Anniversary

Judith Garcia Galiana, Vice President of 3M, assumes leadership role at the premier non-profit organization focused on the advancement of Latino professionals in the corporate and business sectors.

Chicago, IL– December 2017 - The National Board of Directors of Prospanica, the association for Hispanic professionals, convened for the last time this year in the city of Chicago to affirm transitions in leadership that include the official appointment of 3M Vice President, Judith Garcia Galiana, to the role of Chair. “Judith is a seasoned professional that has unequivocally contributed robust business insights and a global perspective to the work we do at Prospanica since she became part of our National Board in 2014. Her role as our new Chair will help us build on the growth we have experienced in the last few years, and further our impact on a national scale,” said Thomas Savino, Prospanica CEO.

Outgoing National Board members Anthony Lopez and Lino Carillo were recognized for their leadership and service to Prospanica for more than five years during the Chicago meeting as well. Mr. Lopez is the immediate Past Chair of Prospanica’s National Board and will now become part of the Prospanica Foundation Board, where he will continue to support the organization through his leadership. Karen Flores, Russell Bennett, Julio Rocha, Janet Simms, Larry Montes and Carmen Heredia will continue to serve on Prospanica’s National Board in 2018; Ms. Flores as the newly appointed Vice Chair.

“As we enter the year of our 30th anniversary, it’s important to reflect on how much progress Hispanic professionals have achieved in the U.S., but it’s even more important to acknowledge how much work is still to be done. We are positioning Prospanica to have a greater positive influence at all levels: students, professionals, MBAs, boards of directors, the business sector and the community. We will accomplish it with continuous industry-leading partnerships, by strengthening our chapter leaders with world class training and investing in our members with powerful offerings,” stated Garcia Galiana. “We want our partners to always come to us first for talent and collaborations,” she added.
