Pacific Region Issues "Heliport Summary" for BC Operators

There has recently been some confusion among operators relating to Hospital Heliport use, and the required aircraft Performance Category. Pacific Region recently issued a summary for the use of BC Operators, which they have made available to helicopter operators, Hospital heliport operators and others [READ MORE.] Absent from the document is any discussion of any commonlaw life-saving due diligence exception to the rules. The issue is under review by HAC and has been referred to our Air Taxi Committee for discussion. In the meantime, you may want to ensure that your flight crews are familiar with the principles set out in the summary.
