The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is accepting public comments until March 21 on proposed changes to its general permit program for operators of municipal separate stormwater sewer systems (MS4s), which will ensure that cities are reducing pollutants in their runoff to the "maximum extent practicable" (MEP). The proposed rule addresses how small MS4s seek and incorporate public comment and agency reviews into their permits.

AGC Explains What You Need
to Know Today about Federal Jurisdiction over WOTUS

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether an applicant for a Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404 permit can immediately challenge, in court, a jurisdictional determination (JD) issued by a federal regulator. The justices took up the question because federal appeals courts could not agree on whether a JD is a "final agency action" that can be challenged in federal courts under the Administrative Procedure Act.

Construction charity organization AGC Charities Inc. is partnering with local construction firms to help build Morgan's Inspiration Island, a new disabled-accessible water park addition to nonprofit Morgan's Wonderland. As part of the charitable organization's annual Operation Opening Doors effort, many construction firms will donate time, expertise and money to build a first-ever accessible water park in San Antonio. "We want to help build a special place where every child is free to splash around and have fun," said Scott Williams, president of Oregon-based Hamilton Construction Co. and the chairman of AGC Charities. "It isn't every day we get to use our skills to build a world of limitless fun for all children, which is what makes this project so important."

If you are interested in donating or volunteering at the event, please contact Nahee Rosso at (703) 837-5348 or rosson@agc.org.

Site work is underway at the former Glassell School Of Art, which has been torn down to make way for a new 80,000 square-foot facility. The campus of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, is being transformed through 2019 with a new master plan: two new buildings, designed by Steven Holl Architects; a new conservation center, designed by Lake|Flato Architects; and a landscape plan that knits together a century's worth of signature architectural structures. Encompassing 14 acres in the heart of Houston’s Museum District, the MFAH campus-redevelopment project is a major contribution to the city’s efforts to improve the pedestrian experience of Houston.
