AGC Houston Leadership AGC Class of 2023 Gathers forRebuilding Together Day of ServiceAnother successful Day of Service for the 2023 class of Leadership AGC is in the books! On Saturday, April 22, 2023, the LAGC class took time from their busy schedules to participate in our Day of Service with Rebuilding Together Houston. The annual Day of Service is a mandatory module of the Leadership AGC program and is designed to promote class camaraderie, leadership, and community outreach. This year’s program was managed by Randi Fronczek of McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., Brian Deaver of TAS Concrete Construction, LLC, and Joe Miller of Texas AirSystems. Gain Your Competitive Edge with AGC's Building Information Modeling Program from May 11th - June 1st!Classes will be held every Thursday: May 11th, 18th, 25th, and June 1st from 9 AM – 5 PM ET Led by Ryan Shults of Gilbane Building Co., this program is designed to educate construction professionals at all experience levels in BIM concepts and processes. The highly interactive virtual program provides 32-hours of instruction via Zoom, and training to prepare construction industry professionals at all levels to take advantage of the benefits of BIM. After participants complete all four courses in the program, they become eligible to sit for an exam to earn the Certificate of Management - Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM) Unit 1 – An Introduction to Building Information Modeling (3rd Edition) These four courses build on each other to combine the latest information on BIM processes and technologies, step-by-step procedures for integrating BIM into the project delivery process, real-life case studies of successful BIM implementation, and the practical issues all parties need to understand when using BIM on a construction project. These classes are offered virtually by AGC of America for Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Suppliers, Owners or others who are interested in earning their CM-BIM credential. Instead, we encourage you to attend the Fall Protection Alliance event on 4/28 at the Houston Area Safety Council in Deer Park to kick off our (AGC’s) fall prevention stand down campaign. May 1-12, 2023 - Focus Stand-Down Demonstrations on Fall Protection
AGC Houston urges all general contractors and specialty contractors to pause and dedicate time to promote worker safety and fall prevention during the Safety Stand-Down May 1-12, 2023.
This two-week period allows companies the flexibility to schedule safety demonstrations and toolbox talks on multiple jobsites.

Safety Demonstrations
Safety consultants and vendors are offering AGC Houston members free safety demonstrations. They will bring everything from fall protection trailers with drop demonstrations to rigging, scaffolds and proper work-wear.

The OSHA Education Center at The University of Texas at Arlington is the top-ranked OSHA Training Institute Education Center in the country. AGC Houston is not an OSHA Training Institute Education Center, but serves as a Host-Training Organization for The University of Texas at Arlington OSHA Training Institute Education Center.
NO-COST one-day fall prevention training program based on OSHA standards and best practices. Course is offered in both English and Spanish. Topics will cover fall protection statistics, OSHA standards for fall protection, how to identify fall hazards, selection and criteria of fall protection systems and equipment, and fall protection training requirements. Students will be provided training materials and digital certificate of attendance.
