On Friday, November 10, 2017, AGC Houston hosted Russ Poppe, Executive Director, Harris County Flood Control District and Stephen Costello, Chief Resilience Officer, City of Houston, for an interesting discussion on what they are doing to make significant investments in flood mitigation. The City and County are working together with state and federal entities on the complex issues facing the region such as regulatory and budget constraints, aging infrastructure and technology shortfalls. At the end of the program, Government Affairs Committee Co-Chairs John Marshall, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc., and Jeremy Stovall, Brookstone, LP, presented each speaker with an AGC Houston hard hat. We look forward to inviting our guests back for a progress update next year.
