The guests were treated to a heartfelt presentation by Texas A&M University's Bob Segner, Professor of Construction Science, Associate Department Head, who encouraged the young generation of construction professionals to "be a lifelong learner, always do the right thing, maintain an ironclad work ethic, and to cultivate and continue to grow your spirituality, professionalism and your personal values." Professor Segner introduced each scholarship recipient with a short biography before they were given a framed certificate and an AGC Houston hardhat.

Next in the program, the attendees saluted Standard of Excellence recipient Kendall Pouland who has steadily climbed the ranks of Tellepsen. Professor Segner read extracts of Howard T. Tellepsen, Jr.’s compelling recommendation letter about how she has impacted the company. To conclude the ceremony, 14 Leadership AGC Class of 2016 participants were recognized for having completed the eight-month program. Earmarked as up-and-coming leaders within their companies, these professionals met monthly with Leadership Class of 2015 facilitators to hone their leadership skills, learn about AGC Houston's history, its legislative impact, including its role in the business community and in the a/e/c industry.

Congratulations to everyone and many thanks to our generous members who continue to support our industry's future!
Photos of the event posted on the AGC Houston website soon.
