On behalf of all of us at the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, we would like to congratulate our Inaugural LEAD Class on their graduation from the Program at the Annual Convention last month! The LEAD Program has surpassed all of our expectations, and this class has set the bar high for all LEAD classes that will follow. Our staff, leadership and members who have had the chance to interact with the 2013-2014 class all agree on one thing: these rising stars are, without a doubt, the GTLA leaders of tomorrow. Congratulations again to all of them!

And, stay tuned for more details on how you can apply for the 2014-2015 LEAD Program this Summer!

GRASSROOTS REPORT
When Linley Jones was elected as the 59th President of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association in April, she made a vow to our members that she would be taking GTLA's show on the road -- so to speak -- and visiting our local chapters and membership consistently throughout her one-year term. So far, Linley has made good on the promise as she has hit the ground running this Spring!

Last week, she was the Keynote Speaker at the Cobb Trial Lawyers Association's monthly lunch meeting (pictured below), and she traveled to Columbus on Wednesday of this week to speak at a lunch with the Columbus Trial Lawyers Association. She is going to continue making appearances across the state this year, so be sure to check the GTLA Events Calendar by clicking here to find out when Linley & the GTLA Staff & Leadership will be in your neck of the woods.

SPECIAL EVENTS
On Thursday, May 1, GTLA members, family and friends came together for the 1st Annual Happy Hour for Hunger at the Home of GTLA President-Elect Darren Penn. Raising funds and canned goods for the Georgia Food Bank Association as part of the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy, the Happy Hour for Hunger was a large part of GTLA's efforts that ultimately saw our Association raise more than 40,000 lbs of food for our state's hungry and deserving citizens. As Past President Robin Frazer Clark reminded us all, hunger is not an issue of charity -- it is an issue of justice. Thank you to all who contributed to this great cause!
