As you probably know, the Georgia General Assembly is back under the Gold Dome for the 2016 Legislative Session, which has already proven to be a contentious term at the Capitol as legislators grapple with a number of hot-button issues. In just a few short weeks, Candidate Qualifying will take place (March 7-11) and the election cycle will begin anew. We have to make sure that we are prepared! Your Civil Justice PAC will receive hundreds of requests – literally – for campaign contributions from every corner of Georgia. While we will not contribute to everyone, we will certainly be active in ensuring that pro-Civil Justice candidates are supported in their bids for office. In order to put (and keep) candidates in office who support your clients' Right to Trial by Jury, we must act now to ensure that our PAC has the resources necessary to reach our goals. Whether you are a previous donor or a first-time contributor, we are eager for you to help support the PAC in 2016. For more information, please email Executive Director Caroline McLean at mcarolinemclean@gmail.com. Thank you!

Grassroots Report

After a number of years dormant, the DeKalb/Decatur Trial Lawyers Association is back up and running! Headed by Chairman Jeremy Citron, the TLA hosted their first meeting in a number of years last Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Parkers on Ponce in Decatur. The group was joined by State Representatives Mary Margaret Oliver and Micah Gravley, as well as GTLA Political Director Bill Clark, and all three provided an insightful and compelling inside look at this year's legislative happenings. We are excited about this revitalized group of trial lawyers, and are looking forward to great things out of DeKalb/Decatur TLA in 2016!
