GTLA COURAGEOUS PURSUIT OF JUSTICE AWARD (aka Nestlehutt Award)

GTLA presents this award to the client of a GTLA member during the Annual Convention each year. Our goal is to recognize a client whose pursuit of justice helped the greater good. It's not about the size of the verdict, or even a victory. It's about courage the client showed against great odds and powerful opponents. Think about your clients and nominate one if you feel appropriate. Nominations need to be sent directly to Emily Hurt at ehurt@gtla.org.

 

GTLA COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

We present this award to a GTLA member during the Annual Convention each year. As the name implies, we hope to recognize a GTLA member who has shown dedication to his or hercommunity inline with GTLA's mission. Nominations need to be sent directly to Emily Hurt.

 

FRED ORR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Fred Orr was a staunch supporter, Past President and beloved member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. The W. Fred Orr II Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by his family and friends to memorialize him in an honorable and befitting manner and to ensure that Fred's passion for GTLA and his encouragement and mentoring of younger lawyers lives on. GTLA awards at least one scholarship per year to pay for membership dues and attendance at the Annual Convention for eligible beginning plaintiff's lawyers.

Interested individuals will provide a one-page essay on the subject of why they want to be a plaintiff's lawyer along with details of how their participation in GTLA will both enhance their own professionalism and contribute to the success of the organization. Requirements for applicants include the following:
