On Saturday, September 28th, GTLA's New Lawyers Division gathered at the Atlanta Community Food Bank to assist in the unloading, sorting and packaging of food and groceries for families in need across the Metro Atlanta community. At the conclusion of the volunteer project, the NLD had helped to sort 14,606 pounds of food that will help feed 12,170 deserving people.

Founded in 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank procures over 45 million pounds of food and groceries each year and distributes it to more than 600 nonprofit partner agencies serving families and individuals in 29 metro Atlanta and north Georgia counties. ACFB utilizes more than 1,000 volunteers a month, over 100 staff members, a large fleet of trucks and a 129,000 square-foot facility to procure and distribute food and grocery items received from hundreds of donors.
