It is nearly that time of the year again, and I wanted to take a moment to let you know about the exciting, informative and entertaining schedule that your GTLA team has put together for the 2013 Annual Convention and President’s Gala. Whether you are looking to gain valuable CLE Hours, commemorate the accomplishments that have been achieved over the past year or simply catch up with friends and colleagues – both old and new – the year’s Convention offers it all!

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response that we received after last year’s Annual Convention, we will be returning to the Loews Hotel in Atlanta for this year’s festivities. The hotel has graciously set aside a block of rooms for the duration of the Convention, and we encourage you to call the Loews directly at 888-563-9736 to reserve your room. Be sure to book your reservations by the deadline of April 15. 

Before the Convention begins, I would like to invite you to dust off your golf clubs and join us at the Cherokee Town & Country Club for the 6th Annual President’s Cup Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 15. This always-popular event is being sponsored by Forge Consulting and will begin with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. Whether you are coming solo or would like to bring your own foursome, we would love to have you join us on the links. 

Once you arrive at the Loews on Thursday, your social calendar will be filled with the Welcome Reception, which is generously sponsored by Butler, Wooten & Fryhofer, LLP. Then immediately following, the Official New Lawyers Division After-Party will be held at Steamhouse Lounge. On Friday, you will have the opportunity to hear from more than 100 top-notch speakers in our multi-track educational programming, which will offer 14 CLE credits, including one for both ethics and professionalism. If you have joined us for a previous Convention, then you are already well aware that the insight, education and practical skills offered throughout the sessions are truly second-to-none. 

The Convention will conclude on Friday evening with the highlight of our yearly gathering – the GTLA Annual Gala! This is sure to be an evening to remember, as GTLA celebrates our many achievements of the past 12 months, while allowing me the distinct honor of handing the reins over to President-Elect Buck Rogers. We will also be joined by Party Nation, who will keep the Gala moving until well into the night. This is an evening that you do not want to miss!
