For the extroverted people lovers, this is a great time of the year where you get to party and spend time with lots of people and talk, laugh, drink and eat and just have a jolly good time! ConventionSouth presented the Augusta Marriott at The Convention Center with a 2014 Readers’ Choice Award. This prestigious recognition is voted on by the country's top meeting professionals who hold events in the South. These planners demand the highest level of customer service, professionalism and only the best facilities. Congratulations to Carlos Morales, Director of Sales & Marketing and Carol Hall, Association and Government Sales Manager and the entire staff on this honor!

We offer congratulations to The Classic Center and Alicia Brasher, Convention Sales Manager, as ConventionSouth awarded the 2015 New/Renovated honor to the property! They'll be highlighted in the magazine's December issue.

ConventionSouth Magazine is the national multimedia resource for planning events in the South. We will be sure to let you know of additional GSAE members who receive recognition from the magazine as these become available.

GSAE Membership Directory & Buyers' Guide
Although the 2015 GSAE Quarterly Luncheon & Participation Fair is still a few months away, it's never too early to start thinking of ways to expand your GSAE involvement!  If you are interested in leading a committee, task force or Shared Interest Group, simply email GSAE.

We understand your time is valuable, and we strive to make volunteer service convenient and rewarding. From welcoming new members to helping experienced ones prepare for the CAE exam, planning the education programming to making recommendations to the Board of Directors, GSAE volunteers truly do the work of the organization.  Learn more about our committees here.

GSAE's Shared Interest Groups (SIGs) offer one of the best resources for association executives and professionals. These self-directed groups of GSAE members focus on a particular area and delve into various topics within that area. In addition to learning from the "experts" in a particular area of interest, GSAE's SIGs offer members a place to discuss with peers issues of personal relevance. Learn more about our SIGs here.

Webinar - The Art of Leadership: Unleashing Your Inner Superhero
Published by Texas Society of Association Executives and Georgia Society of Association Executives
Time: 2 – 3 pm EST
$45 for Members

Summary
The greatest difference between leadership and management is that while management is denoted by title, leadership is an art and may be demonstrated at any level in the organization. In fact, over 90% of leadership occurs from the middle, not the top of the organization. This fun, interactive, and practical session will provide an opportunity for participants to learn how to motivate, engage and inspire others, leverage individual and team strengths, create a culture of accountability, and influence others to action. News Briefs
Save the date for ASAE’s American Association Day, the only legislative fly-in for association professionals. Join us on March 18–19, 2015 when other association executives will visit Washington, DC to advocate for vital association issues. Last year, a record number of participants came from 36 states, and this year the issues facing the association community and our exempt purposes are even greater.

Attend American Associations Day to tell your member of Congress that your association, and all of those in your state, are driving the economy and improving society. Because if they have no idea why associations matter, then how will they stand up for us? To help make this an even more diverse event geographically, ASAE is offering a scholarship to those outside the DC-metro area.

Visit thepowerofa.org/hillvisit to learn more. Register today by contacting Mary Kate Cunningham at (202) 626-2787 or mcunningham@asaecenter.org.
