Dr. Roger Tutterow, Ph.D. is a professor of economics at Kennesaw State University.He also serves as director of the Econometric Center, an applied research center housed in KSU’s Coles College of Business. In addition to his work in academia, Dr. Tutterow has served as a consultant on financial economics and statistical modeling for corporate clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely held businesses.

For the last four years, he has been selected by Georgia Trend magazine as a "notable Georgian." In 2003, Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue appointed Dr. Tutterow to serve on the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors, a capacity that he continues to serve in for current Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal.

Justin Barnes is an attorney in the Atlanta office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Mr. Barnes represents employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies on a variety of labor and employment related issues, including collective and class action wage and hour disputes, labor arbitrations, allegations of discrimination, and employment-related contract disputes.

Dan Vickers, CAE, executive director of the Podiatry Institute, has been named Podiatry Management’s 2018 Inductee into the Podiatry Hall of Fame. Dan has been personally committed to the profession of podiatry for more than 30 years, tirelessly supporting and guiding the educational efforts for the Podiatry Institute and the profession of podiatry. The Chattanooga Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Barry E. White, IOM, CDME as the new president and chief executive officer, attracting a successful tourism and hospitality professional to the Scenic City. White is excited about leading the Chattanooga CVB after wrapping up his service as the president and CEO of the Augusta, Georgia CVB. He started as their director of sales in 1991 and was named to his current position three years later. Read the press release here

On March 21, ASAE presented Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Rep. Scott Taylor (R-VA) with the 2018 Sentinel Award, and Wendy W. Kavanagh, CAE, president of the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE), with ASAE’s Association Political Leadership Award. The awards were presented during American Associations Day at the ASAE Board Reception. American Associations Day is ASAE’s yearly fly-in to share the association industry’s powerful story with policymakers and their staffs in Washington, D.C. Six GSAE members were in attendance.

 
 
   
Meeting Expectations is pleased to announce that founder and partner Jalene Bermudez, CMP, will succeed Brian Meyer as president, reprising the role she held from the company’s founding in 1992 until 2002. Mr. Meyer remains a partner in the firm, will serve on the Meeting Expectations Board of Directors and will work closely with Ms. Bermudez in her role as president, consulting on strategic initiatives. Ms. Bermudez assumes the role of president on Friday, June 1.

Any organization in Georgia that employs at least one GSAE member may apply. The applications are due May 1 and will be judged on the quality of the internship experience described in the application rather than on the qualifications of the student who will fill the internship. It is the responsibility of the organization to recruit a qualified student to fill the internship, but this may be done after the GSAE Foundation announces which applications will be funded.
