We understand your time is valuable, and we strive to make volunteer service convenient and rewarding. From welcoming new members to helping experienced ones prepare for the CAE exam, planning the education programming to making recommendations to the Board of Directors, GSAE volunteers truly do the work of the organization. Learn more about our committees here.

GSAE's Shared Interest Groups (SIGs) offer one of the best resources for association executives and professionals. These self-directed groups of GSAE members focus on a particular area and delve into various topics within that area. In addition to learning from the "experts" in a particular area of interest, GSAE's SIGs offer members a place to discuss with peers issues of personal relevance. Learn more about our SIGs here

Thanks to the generosity of Tecker International, GSAE is embarking on an assessment process to review existing volunteer infrastructure and realign processes/structures to better support the association’s strategy and to reshape volunteer opportunities to be more effective and more attractive to a larger number of our talented volunteers. Led by Jon Krueger and Sarah Berke, CAE, the TF will begin its work on January 31 and continue though the first two quarters of 2017. If you are interested in participating, please let Wendy know.

For his commitment to Georgia agriculture and his efforts to promote the industry and its economic contributions, Gary Black is GeorgiaTrend’s 2017 Georgian of the Year. Now in his second term as the state’s elected Agriculture Commissioner, his department oversees agriculture and is responsible for food safety, animal health, regulating grocery stores and food processing plants, protecting gasoline quality and licensing pest control companies.

Since 2011, Black and his staff have added a strong business dimension through the Georgia Grown program. In its reincarnation, it is uniting producers, processors, retailers and consumers. "I firmly believe that if agriculture in Georgia is healthy, then Georgia is healthy – from an economic standpoint," he says. Read the GeorgiaTrend article in its entirety here.

GSAE has partnered with the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) to offer a discount to all GSAE members on their license for showing scenes from motion pictures and other audiovisual programs. Through your membership with GSAE, you will receive a 10 percent annual discount.

Associations, being the leading providers of adult education, often utilize scenes from television, movies and professional studio productions to make a point in their education and at their events. The license pricing is based on the number of members in your association.
