Augusta Warrior Project
•    We’ll continue to sell t-shirts at our events to keep the love going.  All $20 of the purchase price will be forwarded to the charity thanks to the generosity of the Augusta, Georgia CVB.  And, YAY!! to the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center for making a $1500 donation during our Friday General Session to this great cause.  Augusta truly rocks.
•    We also want to thank Mike Pennington, CAE, CEcD and Todd Hawkins, CAE and his family for contributing to the excitement during our last break.  We appreciate our members supporting such worthy causes as the Augusta Warrior Project and the Pantene Beautiful Locks program.

Here he explains that as association executives, we are responsible for understanding our boards and guiding them through the current evolutionary process that many are undergoing. He asks the question: Has the focus on board structure improved governance?

Have you ever reached a point in your association where you feel like your organization is on the verge, or is currently drowning in the wrong strategic direction, marketing strategies, member apathy, tradition, or board politics? GSAE Annual Meeting keynote speaker, Tom Morrison, examines the numerous root causes that can lead associations to this point in a recent blog post.

News Briefs
We have given the Atlanta CVB our email list to send y’all the volunteer sign up link for ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Expo.  They need to be able to track y’all to ensure we reach everyone interested.  We’ve been told the link will be sent sometime around June 15th, so watch your email for this great opportunity to help us showcase our city and state.  (Reminder: this is ASAE and the Atlanta CVB’s show.  They will provide a contact for any questions you may have regarding volunteer opportunities.)

If not, the latest episode of the ATL Files might get you in the mood for this year's event, taking place in Atlanta.  Also: Have a outside-in mindset to deliver nuanced materials to your members.

The Georgia World Congress Center knows how to tease its conference attendees -- especially when the conference they're teasing is this year's 2013 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition. They're bringing their guests right into the action with a series of short films.
