Jane Anne and Bill Sutphin welcomed their second son, Bennett Michael, on Monday, June 12 at 6:03 a.m. Bennett weighed 7 lbs., 7 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. Mom, baby and big brother Harrison are all doing great!
 
The Certified Association Executive (CAE) program serves to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and designate those who have acquired and have demonstrated knowledge essential to the practice of association management. Congratulations to Erin Hall, CAE, Product Manager, MemberClicks, our newest GSAE member to earn the designation.
 
Carol Hall, Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, has been awarded the 2017 Hayward C. Cox Award, given to the person with the longest time-valued service to the MPI Georgia Chapter. Congratulations, Carol!
 
Dr. David V. Martin, Georgia Council on Economic Education, retired June 30 after 38 years of service, the last 35 years as Executive Director. Dr. Dave was also recently recognized as a "Father of the Year" by the American Diabetes Association on June 29.

 

 
Long-time GSAE member Cheryl Brimer, Vice President of Membership Services at the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA), has announced her retirement and will end her 39-year career on July 28.  Brimer joined GHA as a secretary in February 1978 and was promoted to the association’s lead meeting planner role in 1984. Since then, she has planned and coordinated all of the major meetings for the state’s largest hospital association.  
 
Congratulations to former GSAE community member Steven C. Echard, IOM, CAE, chief executive officer, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, Alexandria, VA, on being slated to serve on ASAE Board of Directors and ASAE Foundation.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for upcoming events, including the GSAE CAE Study Group, webinars and ASAE's Annual Meeting & Expo, August 12-15 in Toronto.
 
Join us for the virtual discussion group, CAEs After Dark, this fall. Let Wendy know if you are interested in joining, or send an email to caeafterdark@gmail.com. Meetings are virtual and take place on the middle Tuesday of the month, 8-9:15 p.m. and provide 1 CAE credit hour per meeting. The program starts again September 12.

  • 1,315 associations across the U.S. participated in this year’s survey, including members and non-members of 26 SAEs.

  • Each SAE report features its own data, state-wide or for its region.
  • The national study compares compensation across states for 39 positions.
  • Meets IRS requirements for third party data.
