Georgia World Congress Center Hotel Plan Moves Forward (courtesy of the AJC)

The Georgia World Congress Center Authority, the state agency that owns the convention center, the dome and the new stadium, envisions a new luxury hotel on about one acre of the site. The board that governs the Georgia World Congress Center voted in November to pursue a pre-development agreement with a Boston company for a hotel at the downtown convention center, an important step as the state agency crafts plans for the 1,010-room high-rise.
