Awards
This summer the Power of A Awards Judging Committee selected 30 association programs to receive a Power of A Gold Award and 56 associations to receive a Power of A Silver Award. In addition, ASAE will honor six associations with the 2016 Summit Award on October 5 at the Power of A Summit Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C. We have begun sharing this news with members of the House, Senate, and the governors of the states. We have also begun to share the news on Twitter at @Power_of_A. Please help us spread the word by following us on Twitter through your work and personal accounts.

Chicago Event
In May, ASAE held its first Power of A session in Chicago. The program encouraged the city’s robust association community to use the Power of A brand and messaging materials to advance their own organizations, as well as broaden their stakeholders’ understanding of associations and the impact they have on society. More than 70 Chicago-area association professionals attended the luncheon to learn more about The Power of A and the many tools and shareable resources available at www.ThePowerOfA.org. The group was also encouraged to provide feedback on how to grow industry adoption of The Power of A, and earn recognition for their association’s outstanding work through The Power of A Awards.

Website Revamp
Earlier this year, we unveiled our revamped, more mobile-responsive website, ThePowerOfA.org. Our website is designed to educate policymakers and the public about the role associations play in creating a stronger America and world. In order to tell our story better visually and to provide more in-depth resource, we’ve updated the website in several ways, among them: the Resource Center boasts the latest industry issue updates, our Inroads newsletter, a calendar of events and details on American Associations Day (March 15-16).

Next Step
As we work to expand The Power of A, we would also like to encourage Ambassadors to share the message through their organization’s website and social media. Below please find examples of other associations who have shared The Power of A on their site. Click here to download the logo, PowerPoint slides, and ads to help share how Association professionals make a stronger America and world. If you already highlight The Power of A on your website let us know! We will compile photos for a special spotlight email to the community. Email us at publicpolicy@asaecenter.org.

If you have any questions or would like to speak with the ASAE Public Policy staff about how you can get more involved please feel free to contact me or ASAE’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy Jim Clarke, CAE, at jclarke@asaecenter.org.
