Former GSAE member Richard "Barry" McElveen, 70, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Barry served on the Board of Directors of South Eastern Fabrication Association for 14 years, and became the Executive Director in 2001. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Drycleaning Council and was past president of the Savannah Area Fabricare Association. He was appointed by Lynn Westmoreland to the Compliance Advisory Panel of the Georgia Small Business Assistance Program. His memberships included the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Savannah Chamber of Commerce, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Society of Association Executives, the American Society of Association Executives, Past Chairman of the Coastal Bryan Development Authority, Past Vice Chairman of the Bryan County Planning and Zoning and a member of the Bryan County Republican Party where he served as Treasurer.
