Debbie Hackman-Bartlett, CAE helped contribute to the Georgia Women of Achievement's honoring of Dr. Alice Woodby McKane (1865–1948); you may view the video here.  Graduating in 1892 with a medical degree, Alice moved to Augusta to become a resident physician and nursing instructor at the Haines Normal and Industrial Institute.  At that time, she was the only black female physician in Georgia.
Georgia Women of Achievement honors outstanding women who had exceptional accomplishments and are a continuing inspiration to others.  Abit Massey, CAE, serves as the President of the Board of Trustees.  You may learn more about GWA here.
