The Baltimore SunJohn Danko got his Baltimore company's first 3-D printer four years ago, and he said it's given him a front-row seat for a manufacturing revolution. In an office across the street from the foundry where Danko Arlington's molten metal flows, he prints out the industrial patterns he said he could no longer find skilled workers to do by hand. Some see in this the potential for a change as substantial as the Industrial Revolution — a different way of making things that could kick-start tiny operations, disrupt entire industries and literally transform the landscape.

The headline PMI figure moved slightly higher, up from 48.1 in April to 49.7 in May. On the one hand, it suggests that overall manufacturing sentiment continues to contract, with PMI values below 50 for five straight months. Yet, the pace of the decline appears to be slowing, which could be a sign of stabilization for the market.

UbergizmoAccording to a paper in the Environmental Science and Technology, it has been found that more efficient turbines can be created by making the towers higher, and the rotors longer. Unfortunately this means that wind farm operator will have to replace all their current turbines with new ones, or does it? According to GE, they have found that this might not necessarily have to be the case, as they can swap out the current rotors with new ones.
