AGMA will travel to China October 19-31 for a high-level trade mission. The AGMA China Trade Mission is expected to bring up to 25 leaders to the region for company tours, business meetings and cultural exchanges. This is the second time AGMA has conducted a trade mission in China, the last time was in 2004. This year’s mission will include tours and meetings in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuxi and Nanjing.

Two fierce competitors in the automotive industry are teaming to create innovative electric vehicle (EV) batteries for their North American electric (EV) models. The companies hope that economies of scale will help lower costs. Under the agreement, development work will focus on GM’s next-generation battery system. 3D-printing firm Rize Inc. and Production Services Management Inc. (PSMI), a metal removing and engineering company, have formed a partnership that may result in a business model unique to the additive manufacturing (AM) landscape. PSMI formed a new company, Azoth, that will use Rize’s 3-D printing technology to provide 3D-printed tooling and spare parts to its industrial customers, which include companies as large as John Deere, GM and Ford. 
Tesla Inc. nearly produced 5,000 Model 3 electric sedans in the last week of its second quarter, with the final car rolling off the assembly line on Sunday morning, several hours after the midnight goal set by Chief Executive Elon Musk, two workers at the factory told Reuters.

The Transcend Air Corporation has announced the development of the Vy, a tilt-wing vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) six-seater aircraft designed to ferry people in and out of cities. Simultaneously, the company has said it will launch an air taxi-style commuter service to operate the aircraft.
