e-Drive gears differentiate from other gears in two essential ways: higher quality and the need for an excellent noise behavior. This webinar will showcase a totally new approach of gear inspection using Gleason’s newly developed GRSL (Gear Rolling System with Integrated Laser Technology). Due to the very high measuring speed and the high amount of measurement data, it is now possible for the first time to carry out up to 100% in process inspection, including a noise analysis and thus eliminating the traditional statistical process control. In addition, the system can easily be integrated into a cell, the Hard Finishing Cell.

The 2022 AGMA Strategic Resources Network event has been designed for the next-generation manufacturing leaders. We are providing presentations that address the agile skills that our current manufacturing environments require.
This course is an introduction to the methodology of analytical gear inspection and the evaluation and interpretation of the resulting data. The application of this information to identify and correct manufacturing errors will begin to be explored. Additionally, it reviews chart interpretation and applies inspection data to understand the causes and cures of manufacturing errors. Many chart examples are used to understand cause and effect.

In a traditional ICE vehicle, the thermal management can be best summarized as the removal of excess heat from the combustion process. However, within fully electric or hybrid vehicles thermal management is significantly more important and therefore challenging. Thermal control of an EV starts with the very first step, charging of the battery. The battery itself needs to be controlled, especially during rapid charge, to prevent thermal runaway but also what is less well understood is that the efficiency, level and repeatability of the charge are all heavily influenced by the temperature of the battery during charging.

Emirates airline has said that deliveries of the Boeing 787 Dreamliners it has ordered are delayed by at least a year, until 2024, and that it could be even longer due to the U.S. plane maker's continued delivery suspension over structural flaws. The Dubai-based carrier ordered 30 of the twin-aisle jets nearly three years ago as part of a broader deal that saw it cut the number of orders for larger 777X aircraft, now also delayed.

Attention-grabbing headlines and political stump speeches keep indicating that America no longer makes anything. But despite lots of transitions and evolutions in American manufacturing, the U.S. is still the number two manufacturer in the world in terms of output, second only to China. The industry is now seeing steady and substantial growth after declines, creating a manufacturing renaissance. Much of that new vitality is thanks to innovation, specifically the introduction of robotic automation in American manufacturing.

The number of American workers who quit their jobs during the pandemic — over a fifth of the workforce— may constitute one of the largest American labor movements in recent history. At the same time, automation has become cheaper and smarter than ever. Robot adoption hit record highs in 2021. Will robots automate away the jobs of entitled millennials who “don’t want to work,” or could this technology actually improve workers’ jobs and help firms attract more enthusiastic employees?
