AGMA Updates
Want to learn more about 3D metal printing? Join us as we walk on the RAPID show floor and talk with those in the industry. We had great success doing this in 2019 and are excited to do it again. AGMA is actively engaging with exhibitors to have 12-15 stops on our tour where you will learn about many different types of printers and materials currently in use in metal 3D printing. Exhibitors will speak directly to the gear industry audience with targeted information. SME is providing AGMA attendees with discounts on other parts of the show. Attendees will also get lunch during a post-tour debrief. There is a very limited number of slots available!

AGMA will host its annual Gear Market Report webinar bringing S&P (formerly IHS Markit) economists to this industry forum. This is free for AGMA members.
AGMA Techical Division recently announced two new publications: AGMA 925-B22, Effect of Tribology and Lubrication on Gear Surface Distress (Replaces AGMA 925-A03, Effect of Lubrication on Gear Surface Distress) and AGMA 943-A22, Tolerances for Spur and Helical Racks.

In this webinar, we’ll cover a few case studies on how machine shops and high-mix-low-volume manufacturers started their Industry 4.0 journey, as well as potential pitfalls to avoid and best practices for success.
Learn how to develop and understand customer gear drive application specifications and target performance expectations. Review, calculate and select basic gear terminology variables and design parameters which define tooth bending and contact rating safety factors on two real life examples. Learn how to fit new gear designs and ratios into existing center distance. Use commercially available software to calculate and optimize gear set power density. Discuss time and cost of more than 20 other gear drive component functions and drive development steps through prototypes to shipment of compliant assembled production drives. There will be an opportunity to discuss gear design challenges which may be unique to participant industries.

Amper’s technology is effectively a plug-and-play solution that retrofits factory machines. The small boxes plug into the wall and clamp on to the machine’s cord to measure energy flow. From there, it can extrapolate key information, including output and whether the system is online.
**Please note: AGMA will host Amper in an Emerging Tech webinar on May 11
