The highest level of tensions in the U.S. relationship with China and Russia in the past 40 years has been described as a new “Cold War 2.0” and is rapidly reshaping the global security landscape. For companies in the bearing and gear industries (and related areas), this means new challenges when exporting to key markets, sharing technology across borders and expanding overseas sales. In this webinar, a panel of practitioners will unpack these developments, explain what they mean in practical terms for your business, and help you prepare for further rises in global tensions throughout 2022 and into 2023.

Interact Analysis and AGMA partnered a year ago to bring more intelligence insights to the AGMA membership. They provide, for free, their quarterly Manufacturing Industry Output Report, the MIO Tracker. This presentation will walk you through the production data and forecasts as well and provide some new data sets that will be included in the reports moving forward. Manufacturers and suppliers are looking for more data to make smarter decisions and this webinar will assist them.
Gain a solid and fundamental understanding of gear geometry, types and arrangements, and design principles. Starting with the basic definitions of gears, conjugate motion and the Laws of Gearing, learn the tools needed to understand the inter-relation and coordinated motion operating within gear pairs and multi-gear trains. Basic gear system design process and gear measurement and inspection techniques will also be explained. In addition, the fundamentals of understanding the step-wise process of working through the iterative design process required to generate a gear pair will be reviewed.

Here is a truism that manufacturers working close to additive manufacturing understand: The best opportunities for AM involve parts designed with additive in mind. But what if this principle extends farther than part design? To make a product additively is not just to replace some conventional operation with 3D printing.

KISSsoft features the calculation of the geometry of non-circular gears for different operating pitch lines. Non-circular gears are typically designed to have variable output torque and speed. It is also possible to design them with variable center distance. Nevertheless, to achieve more complex transmission ratio functions, modified elliptical shapes, n-lobed ellipses or own functions can be used in KISSsoft for the operating pitch lines of the gears.
