Indeed, high-entropy Elinvar appears to get stiffer and springier as temperatures approach 1,000 K (727°C, 1,341 °F). No other known metals have been found to behave this way.

GE Aviation is acquiring five GE Additive Concept Laser M Line systems. The first four M Line systems will be installed at GE Aviation’s Additive Technology Center (ATC) in West Chester, Ohio in 2022. A fifth M Line system will be installed at Avio Aero’s Turin site in Italy to support the serial production of additive components for the GE Catalyst turboprop engine during 2022.

Snow Lake Lithium has outlined plans to develop the world’s first all-electric lithium mine in Manitoba, Canada. The company notes that North American automotive manufacturers have committed manufacturing capacity to meet the demand for electric vehicles, but the future of the automotive industry relies on sourcing lithium hydroxide domestically rather than importing it from China and Asia, as well as creating an integrated domestic supply chain.

Hexagon Purus has signed a long-term binding letter of intent with Hino Motors Manufacturing USA to provide battery packs for multiple Hino truck platforms. Serial production is planned from 2024. Already a development partner on Hino’s Project Z Battery Electric Vehicle program, Hexagon Purus will continue the development phase of the project in 2022, with customer demonstrations in 2023 ahead of serial production covering Hino’s Class 6, 7 and 8 commercial trucks.

Switzerland-based Global Palladium Fund announced the launching of its own physical electric vehicle metals exchange-traded commodities (ETC) with $10 million of seed capital, initially listing on the Borsa Italiana and with plans to list on the Deutsche Börse, London Stock Exchange and SIX in the coming weeks.

California company Amprius has shipped the first batch of what it claims are the most energy-dense lithium batteries available today. These silicone anode cells hold 73 percent more energy than Tesla’s Model 3 cells by weight and they take up 37 percent less volume.
