This course is an introduction to the methodology of analytical gear inspection and the evaluation and interpretation of the resulting data. The application of this information to identify and correct manufacturing errors will begin to be explored. Additionally, it reviews chart interpretation and applies inspection data to understand the causes and cures of manufacturing errors. Many chart examples are used to understand cause and effect.
  
Technology is fundamentally changing the way manufacturing is done. The gear industry is faced with emerging trends and innovation that is challenging engineers to stay on course with cutting-edge technology to keep design, quality, materials and analysis efficient. It is imperative that researchers and gear engineers communicate ideas with fellow experts in the field. AGMA’s annual Fall Technical Meeting (FTM) is the perfect forum in which to share research and to disperse knowledge for the benefit of the industry at a global level.
Jaidev Krishnan, director of condition monitoring for Nikola Labs Inc., has been working with Nikola Labs since 2019 along with the launch of their end-to-end online vibration analysis service. He now leads a team of condition monitoring engineers that provide in-depth prescriptive alerts to over 150 facilities on stationary rotating assets across the United States.

In December 2021, Japanese company Nidec started construction on a new electric motor factory in Novi Sad in Serbia. The Nidec Electric Motor Serbia plant is expected to be completed in mid-2022 and is expected to supply traction motors for electric vehicles.
