The 2021 AGMA Strategic Resources Network (SRN) event has been designed for the next-generation manufacturing leaders. We are providing presentations that address the agile skills that our current manufacturing environments require.

AGMA has a robust Statistical Program. The AGMA ORR is the benchmarking report for the gear industry. It is the annual profitability survey of AGMA members. Deadline for reporting your information is June 1, 2021. For more information, email doran@agma.org.
Gain a basic understanding of steel and its properties. Learn to make use of steel properties in an application and understand the potential that different steel and heat treatment options can offer. Explore how performance of the material depends on how the steel is produced.
This course is specially designed for engineers and others with technical backgrounds that have had limited exposure to bearings and need to adapt their technical training to bearings or seek an upgrade to their technical knowledge. The Essentials Course focuses on understanding basic internal geometry, tribology, bearing attributes and applications and explores the basic concepts around manufacturing methods, loads, internal load contacts, lubrication and failure.

Output at U.S. factories increased in April as operations at plants that were damaged by February’s stormy weather in the South came back online, offsetting a decline in the production of motor vehicles. Manufacturing production rose 0.4% last month after surging 3.1% in March, according to the Federal Reserve. Manufacturing production remains a touch below its pre-pandemic level.

Material definitions prove to be fundamentally complex: In the standards for strength calculations for gears, numerous influences — such as residual austenite content, hardening depth, residual stresses, hardening processes and others — cannot be directly assessed. It is therefore particularly important for the design engineer to identify these influences and their possible effects.
