On Friday, June 10, HomeAid Atlanta celebrated the dedication of
Building II at Phoenix Pass with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Phoenix Pass is a
long-term transitional housing complex serving women with children, who are
experiencing temporary homelessness in the Conyers/Rockdale County
The new eight-unit apartment building, built under the guidance of
HomeAid Builder Captain John Cooper of Cooper Homes, enables Phoenix Pass meet
the needs of more families as they strive to reestablish self-sufficiency in a
While the donations and discounts of labor and material are still
being tabulated, to date, HomeAid has saved Phoenix Pass around $265,000 or
over 56 percent of the market value of the construction of Building II. HomeAid
was able to reach these tremendous savings with the help of numerous members of
the building industry who graciously gave to help single mothers in need.
