Sponsored by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the Parade of Homes is back and better than ever! This annual spring showcase of new homes across metro Atlanta will take place in late April to early May. The event features a wide variety of homes and townhomes in a diversity of styles, locations and price points and is free, self-guided and open to the public. 
 
 
Last week, the GAHBA held its annual Installation and Awards Program at the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception followed by the installation ceremony. During the event, the GAHBA's 2019 executive officers (pictured above) and board members were sworn in, and award winners for 2018 were recognized. We congratulate all of those honored and thank them for their leadership and service to the GAHBA.

Forsyth County has released their latest version of proposed residential design standards
 
 
During their work session today, the Forsyth County Planning Commission will receive a briefing from TSW on the "UDC modifications related to residential design standards." On Tuesday, January 29, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for the residential design standards. There are sections that concern builders, and GAHBA members are encouraged to review the latest version and provide feedback.
 
The Government Affairs Committee plans to host a meeting before the public hearing to review concerns and discuss strategy. More details to come. If you have questions or concerns, contact Stephen Davis at (202) 664-6521 or sdavis@atlantahba.com.

The association is excited to announce the revision of the GAHBA contracts! Frank Brown of Weissman Attorneys at Law has rewritten the contracts, and the 2018 version is now available for purchase through the online bookstore. When you purchase the 2018 GAHBA contracts online, you will receive a link to download the contract files.

 
The contracts are FREE for GAHBA members, $12 for members of other HBAs, and $22 for non-members.

 
We are asking that you stop using any old versions of the contracts and only use the 2018 contracts.
