Rachel Elzey is a Business Developer for Baytree Landscape Contractors, which operates out of Atlanta, Charleston, and Nashville.

How long have you been in the industry? 1 year, 1 month.

Tell us a little about your company and what you do. Baytree is a commercial landscape company that is capable of turn key packages including landscape, irrigation, hardscape, and maintenance. My role as a Business Developer is to connect with general contractors and home builders to find opportunities for our services. I am personally over Construction Sales in the Atlanta market, and with my amazing team of estimators, I take the process through the complete sale cycle before turning it over to operations. Here at Baytree, we work as a team to get the job done.

Tell us an interesting/fun tidbit about your business. Something that Baytree does that none of my prior employers did is having monthly birthday celebrations. Every month we have a cake and gather to sing happy birthday to everyone in that month. I thought this was a very thoughtful way to recognize the employees.

What has been the biggest accomplishment of your career? The biggest accomplishment of my career in the construction industry at this point would have to be my first large turn key sale. It is a contract that I have been working on since my first month on the job. It finally closed, and we start the hardscape portion next week! It was so rewarding having the complete cycle turn over. Meet the client, build the trust, bid the plans, provide VE options, rebid the plans, scope out the proposal, negotiate the contract, and finally signing the line! I don't know about you but THAT puts the fire in me to do my job to the best of my abilities.
