  The HBA's Young Professionals Group hosted a Sip & Shop last week at Swoozie's in Buckhead. The event helped raise funds for HomeAid Atlanta. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the YPG and HomeAid! 

Last week the DeKalb/Rockdale Chapter hosted a lunch meeting at This Is It BBQ in Lithonia. Eugene James of Metrostudy served as guest speaker and gave an update on available lots in DeKalb and Rockdale Counties.

Atlanta: Post cyberattack, what are the steps to get a water meter?

1. Go to Public Works (3rd floor, City Hall) to obtain the Right of Way approval – $85

2. After the approval, take the water meter application to 72 Marietta Street NW and pay for the meter – $2,000

 

Clarkston: The city is seeking a candidate for the Planning and Zoning Board. There is only one spot open.

Woodstock: The city has extended the moratorium on residential, single-family attached and single-family detached homes on lots under 7,500 square feet to 120 days. The previous mortarium was for 30 days and took effect on March 26. The moratorium is now set to expire in September 2018.

HomeAid Atlanta’s 17th Annual Essentials Drive will be held from April 30 to May 8 in honor of Mother's Day. The Essentials Drive is an Atlanta-wide drive to collect "essentials," such as diapers, baby wipes, baby food, and formula for homeless infants and toddlers. Your office, community organization, or social group can help homeless babies by holding an Essentials Drive or donating to the drive!
