Government Affairs

City of Atlanta: The city is moving their inspection services “In House.” Their contract with SafeBilt will expire on April 13. The recent cyberattack is still causing issues. If you have problems scheduling your inspection, call the inspection department directly.

Forsyth County: Forsyth County is still seeking input on new residential design standards. Design standards under consideration include exterior materials, windows, building scale and disposition on the lot, landscaping, open space, lighting, and accessory structures. HBA members and staff have met and will continue to meet with Forsyth County officials on this matter. Draft residential design standards will be unveiled at an upcoming open house.

Sandy Springs: The Planning Commission has recommended new development codes. HBA members and staff worked with city officials throughout the process, and several accommodations for builders were included. The Mayor and City Council will vote on the new development codes on April 17 at 6:00 p.m.

Gwinnett County: The Gwinnett County Planning Department is processing requests for painted brick as a modification process. To apply, complete the modification form and submit to the Development Plan Review Section of the Planning Department. There is an application fee of $100. This is temporary, and your HBA is working with the county to find a good permanent solution

Your office, community organization, or social group can help homeless babies by holding an Essentials Drive or donating to the drive!
