Enter your model home today and get ready to reap the benefits of the 2018 Greater Atlanta HBA Parade of Homes! This event is designed to deliver traffic and generate sales with a marketing blitz valued at approximately $200,000. The Parade Showcase will be held April 20 through May 6 to give interested homebuyers three full weekends to visit homes.

Deadline to Enter: February 28

Entry Fee: $2,500 per home (enter three homes and get the fourth free!) and $1,800 for every additional home after the fourth.

The 2018 Greater Atlanta HBA Parade of Homes magazine will be published Thursday, April 19, in the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The AJC will provide additional coverage and marketing promotions throughout the event and beyond. The Parade of Homes magazine will include information about each model home entry and will be available through a link on ajchomefinder.com throughout the Parade and for one year following the release.

The deadline to purchase ads is February 28.

Last week members of the Greater Atlanta HBA visited the state capitol and joined with other HBAs from around Georgia for the Home Builders Association of Georgia’s annual Winter Meeting and Rally at the Capitol. Our members had the opportunity to visit with Governor Nathan Deal and members of the State General Assembly and the State Senate to talk with them about the importance of home builders and discuss bills which could affect our industry.

Attendees had a great time at the Forsyth Chapter lunch meeting last week. Thank you to Mike Overley and Eugene James of Metrostudy for delivering an informative housing market update!

Government Affairs

On Thursday, February 22, the Government Affairs Committee met to discuss the issues facing home builders in our association. Some of the issues discussed were the sewer permit situation in Dekalb County, the proposed code and rezoning plan in Sandy Springs, and the bond issue affecting Woodstock.

Other news this week is that we learned that the City of Brookhaven will be lifting their moratorium on permits on February 28.

The new motto for our HBA Government Affairs team is “See Something, Say Something.” We encourage you to reach out to our new Government Affairs Director Stephen Davis if something is happening that is negatively affecting our industry.
