On Thursday, January 25, the Greater Atlanta HBA held its annual Installation and Awards Reception and Program at the Capital City Club in Brookhaven. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception followed by the installation ceremony. During the ceremony, the HBA's 2018 officers and board members were sworn in, and award winners for 2017 were recognized. The 2018 HBAG Winter Board Meeting & Rally at the Capitol will be held February 20 at the Georgia State Capitol. This is the perfect opportunity to meet with local legislators and learn the issues important to them that might affect home building. In return, legislators are able to learn from individuals in the building industry. Please call your legislator ahead of time and set an appointment to meet. You can easily find contact information via the Action Center on the HBAG website. Let them know you’ll be at the capitol to say hello and talk about legislation the home builders are working on this year.

On Friday, January 26, supporters of HomeAid Atlanta and Jesus Set the Captive Free (JSCF) gathered for a ribbon cutting and open house at HomeAid's Care Project, a renovated triplex on Dill Avenue. Volunteer Builder Captain James MacDowell (fourth from left) donated his time, resources, and expertise. Soon the triplex will provide transitional housing for formerly incarcerated homeless men, including veterans, receiving programs and services from JSCF.
