The Construction Management Program Advisory Committee from Gwinnett Technical College has a beneficial employment proposal to share. Currently the college has a large number of students who will be completing their Construction Management Program, several of them at an Associate’s degree level, in the next couple of weeks. These students are prepared to work and are looking for entry-level, apprenticeship type positions. We believe this effort would serve both the students and potential employers very well.

We’re sharing this opportunity with the Home Builders Association members who may have interest in these new construction candidates. For more information, instructor Dr. David Bowers can be contacted here: dbowers@gwinnetttech.edu.

Homeaid Atlanta

HomeAid Atlanta is proud to partner with Builder Captain Patrick Morgan of First Street Builders for a project at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries (Clifton) in Atlanta. Clifton serves homeless men through emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling, support groups, and case management. The project will provide total renovations, valued at $165,000, to both the emergency and transitional facilities. HomeAid looks forward to helping provide dignified surroundings for the men and staff at Clifton.

On June 29, Myles Cardenas of the KSU NAHB Student Chapter volunteered with HomeAid to take care of final details at the renovation project at Jesus Set the Captive Free (with volunteer Builder Captain Brian Canady, BBC Builders) in southwest Atlanta. Furniture and decor for this project were generously donated by Design2Sell Interiors & Home Staging. In the coming weeks, this home will provide transitional housing for formerly incarcerated veterans working to rebuild their lives.
