Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Do you need your re-certification hours for erosion?

In 2003, HB285 amended the Georgia Erosion and Sediment Control Act of 1975. These amendments included a mandatory certification program for all individuals involved in land disturbing activities in Georgia.

This certification must be renewed every three years. Each certified individual shall be required to attend and participate in at least four hours of approved continuing education courses, as established by the Commission. (O.C.G.A. 12-7-19). The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (GSWCC) in consultation with the Stakeholder Advisory Board have established the re-certification requirements. There will not be an examination required for re-certification.

Participants must bring a photo ID and your blue card. LATE ARRIVALS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED!

William "Bill" Webb will facilitate this course. Bill earned his Associates Degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Polytechnic University in 1969. He is currently a consultant for the Georgia DOT after retiring from 34 years of service with them. He has taught the Level 1A and Level 1B since 2006 and participated in many field reviews and evaluations on erosion and sedimentation issues.
