The Residential Construction Performance Guidelines (RCPG) and the Georgia Law

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Do you know how the Residential Construction Performance Guidelines affect you as part of the builder licensing law?

Among the requirements of the Georgia Contractor's License law is the need to provide a written warranty for certain work, and in the warranty the RCPG should be referenced as the cornerstone of performance. Join us for this session to learn why these criteria are essential for both parties in evaluating completed projects and see how these are different from certain mandate codes and standards. Participants in this session will have a full understanding of what is required by Georgia law. Don’t wait until you need this information! Just like your continuing education credits, the state of Georgia says, "It's the Law!"

Each participant will receive a Residential Contraction Performance Guidelines as part of the materials in the class.

Bob Merz and Tom Gotschall will facilitate this session. Bob is the president of Construction Arbitration Associates, Ltd. He has personally conducted thousands of arbitrations on construction and real estate related matters over the past 25 years. With his experience as a former professor at the at Georgia Institute of Technology and Purdue University, Bob has applied his teaching expertise in offering seminars for the National Association of Home Builders, Call for Action, and the Consumer Action Center. Tom graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction and has a background in general contracting and construction and real estate dispute resolution. He has certifications in the Residential Code and the Building Code. Tom is a seasoned arbitrator and a dynamic instructor and speaker on a host of construction topics.
