Lead Certified Renovator
Sept. 8, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Do you need the EPA required Lead Certification class?
The EPA’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting Final Rule (40 CFR 745) requires renovation conducted for compensation must be performed by certified renovators. Renovation firms that wish to work in pre‐1978 homes and child‐occupied faculties must apply to EPA and pay a fee in order to become certified. Renovators seeking to become certified must successfully complete this EPA‐accredited renovator course through an EPA Accredited Training Provider.

To complete the training each student must make a minimum score of 95 percent in class work, participate in all 11 hands‐on skill sets, receive a "Proficient" score on the Participant Progress Log and pass our exam with at least a 70 percent in order to receive an EPA Certified Renovator certificate. This certificate will represent your achievement and will include your unique certification number. The certification requires a renewal process every five years. You must successfully complete an EPA‐accredited certified renovator refresher course before your initial certification expires.

Bonnie Maurras, of National Environmental Solutions, Inc., will facilitate this session. Bonnie has been helping to build a trained and certified lead abatement workforce of contractors, consultants and health care providers in EPA Region IV since 1994. In 2007, CDC hired Bonnie to teach their pilot Lead Safe Work Practice course in Savannah to contractors interested in 406b compliance.
