Glazing Systems: Balancing Aesthetics, Performance and Cost
August 10, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Do you know how to select glazing to make your windows more energy efficient?

Sealed insulating glass and dual glazed systems are being used extensively in today’s buildings. Selection of the glazing system has a major impact on building energy costs and the life expectancy of the glazing system. Using a variety of glass samples and project case studies from across the United States participants of this session will learn:

• How the architect’s selection and the contractors specification hold of the glazing system impacts aesthetics
• How to judge thermal performance
• How that effects the cost
• What are the effects of:
      o double-glazing, triple glazing
      o warm edge technologies
      o low-E coatings
      o tints
      o reflective coatings

Amber Gay will facilitate this session. Amber started her career in the window industry working for Glass Equipment Development in 1997 while attending college full time at The University of Akron in Ohio. Amber has dedicated her entire career to the window and door side of the building industry.

Lunch will be served in from Olive Garden as part of your registration!
