DeKalb County: DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond has confirmed the county will miss the 2020 deadline to fix the sewer system, and it might take an additional five years to meet the requirements of the agreement with the EPA and EPD. If the deadline is not met, the county could face fines and other penalties.

Forsyth County: The Forsyth County Commission will host a special work session on Monday, May 6, at 2:00 p.m. for stakeholders to present their concerns regarding residential design standards. GAHBA members will be attending the meeting to present the case as to why the design standards need to be modified. All members who live or work in Forsyth County are encouraged to attend.

For more than a year, the GAHBA has worked with a coalition of builders, association partners, and the Board of Commissioners to ensure stakeholders concerns are heard, and the association is grateful to the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners for their willingness to continue the conversation and host the special work session.
